STEM curriculum training for OST prrograms

Adventures with STEM
Thursdays, October 25 & November 1

Roxbury, MA 9:30AM - 12:00PM

Want to learn more about linking the MA ESE "Science and Technology/Engineering" Curriculum Frameworks and Guiding Principles used in the public school systems to your OST programming? Join the Massachusetts Afterschool Partnership and out-of-school time educators for a .5-CEU course designed to support staff as they develop STEM programming for OST youth that is aligned with MA Curriculum Standards. At this 2-part training participants will: (1) Use planning materials to promote the learning and teaching of elementary science, engineering and technology through observation and interest-based planning techniques; (2) Develop fun, engaging, hands-on informal STEM lessons for OST settings that will help the school-age child increase knowledge of science and technology/engineering in an exploratory manner; and (3) Strengthen their capacity to connect with schools more intentionally.
