Dr. Freeman A. Hrabowski, III, President of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County
Dr. Hrabowski’s research and publications focus on science and math education, with special emphasis on minority participation and performance. He will be giving the Simmons College/Beacon Press 2013 Race, Education & Democracy Lectures, an annual series of three public lectures proceeding on the assumption that public education is at the center of American public life and that discussions about critical educational issues need to occur in the public domain and engage Americans from many different backgrounds in thoughtful and complicated conversations.
