Mass DiGi Education Working Group

The Massachusetts Digital Games Institute (MassDiGI) is a statewide center, designated by the Commonwealth, for academic cooperation, economic development and job creation across the Massachusetts digital and video games ecosystem.

Their Education Working Group (in formation) will bring together educators, technologists, researchers, policy makers and others interested in exploring the intersection of games and learning. Group members will convene from time-to-time and discuss issues within elementary, secondary and post-secondary education related to the following:
  • Curriculum design and development
  • Game-based learning
  • Student engagement
  • Informal/formal learning in STEM, as well as the arts and humanities
  • Digital literacy
  • Non-traditional credentialing
  • Training
  • Simulation
  • Professional development 

The Education Working Group will be meeting Thursday, August 9, 2012 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Becker College in Worcester, MA.

In addition to the meet-up, attendees will have a chance to visit the MassDiGi Summer Innovation Program featuring student developed projects. 18 students from 9 different colleges and universities are participating in SIP.
