Northeastern University STEM Summer Programs

This summer a group of Boston-area high school  students participated in Northeastern University's Young Scholars Program which places 26 of the brightest Boston-area high-school students in paid research positions in university labs. The effort not only increases the depth of students’ scientific knowledge, it gives them a chance to learn about potential career paths as they collaborate with leading faculty to explore an array of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) areas.

Another summer STEM learning program offered at Northeastern University this summer was the ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp. The free, two-week program — run by Northeastern’s Center for STEM Education —gives students the chance to work alongside Northeastern faculty, staff and students on projects aimed at increasing their knowledge and experience in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The two-week academic, residential camp for middle schoolers emphasizes increasing students' mathematics/science skills, introducing them to college life, and stimulating their interest in science and engineering as a potential career path.

  1. Hello! Keep it up! This is a good read. I will be looking forward to visit your page again and for your other posts as well. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about summer camps in your area. I am glad to stop by your site and know more about summer camps.
o meet a growing demand for language education, language camps have developed around the United States. Many of these summer programs are hosted by high schools. Colleges and universities have also created camps using their facilities to host younger students. Foreign countries have established summer schools in the United States to offer education regarding their culture and language. The growing popularity of summer language camps may be related to a growing interest in languages not typically offered in United States high school curricula. Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, and Korean are examples of languages in-demand that do not often appear in a curriculum.
Get your child thinking about math and not just doing it by rote.

  2. Hi there! great post. Thanks for sharing a very interesting and informative content, it is a big help to me and to others as well, keep it up!
Instead of being out of school doing the “Summer Slide” show your student that importance of continued education and socialization as they take a leap from the textbook into the practical world by exploring science and making new friendships along the way.
