Time Setting

Thursdays – May 23rd & 30th
9:30AM – 12:00PM
776 Washington Street – Dorchester, MA 02124

What’s the difference between the Solar System and the Universe? Join MAP and out-of-school time (OST) educators for a .5-CEU course designed to support staff as they explore astronomy concepts through engaging hands-on activities, and focus on the universe outside the solar system. Don’t have a science background? Not a problem! At this 2-part training participants will:

  • Broaden their knowledge and understanding of the MA Curriculum Frameworks and develop Astronomy-based programming for school-age youth
  • Identify and examine resources available to support Astronomy learning in OST programs
  • Strengthen their knowledge of the Solar System and the Universe
  • Learn strategies for developing children’s observation skills
  • Strengthen their capacity to create a learning environment and Astronomy curriculum that inspires kids afterschool and during the summer
  • Experience the fun associated with Astronomy-based learning

For more information about the training, please contact Nicole Wilkins at (617) 338-0005.
